Finally Under Contract?

After your offer has been accepted on your new dream home, what comes next? Many buyers often ask this question. A HUGE, life changing event has just occurred, but new home buyers feel left in the dark on the next steps.

Before announcing your news to the world:

 

#1 Call the Becky O’Neill Power Selling Team to set the dates and appointments that you will need to finalize your sale. This may include lenders, inspectors, and insurance agents.

 

#2 Turn in your earnest money.

 

#3 Send your lender all of the necessary documents ASAP. Once approved and under contract, your lender can get the ball rolling on all of the necessary steps to get you cleared to close.

 

#4 Schedule the home inspection as soon as you can. You want to make sure that the home you are buying is ready to go and perfect for the day you move in! This is the time to go over your new home with your inspector with a “fine toothed comb” to see if there are any issues that need to be brought to the seller’s attention.

 

#5 Negotiate items that should be repaired with the seller.

 

#6 Work with your lender on all documents needed to get your loan commitment, including ordering the appraisal. 

 

#7 Select the right insurance agent to provide you with the proper home insurance that you will need going forward.

 

#8 Decide if you would like to order a survey.

 

#9 Schedule all of your utilities to be put in your name so your house is ready on move in day.

 

#10 Go buy your new home!
