One favorite activity of the Becky O’Neill Power Selling Team during the warmer months is hiking our favorite trails. A great family-friendly or solitary trip to a local trail can be a relaxing experience to get in touch with nature, see the sights of Missouri, and experience the surrounding areas.
Castlewood State Park offers sights of the Meramec River and lush green surroundings. Hikers and mountain bikers can spend the day on the trails experiencing the fantastic surroundings of Castlewood.
Meramec State Park is home to over 13 miles of trails broken into 7 different trails of experience and difficulty. Each trail consists of the wonderful geological surroundings as well as animal and plant life specific to the Missouri area. Visitors can also swim, boat, fish, and raft in the river. After a long day, camp out under the stars.
Visitors can start in the quaint downtown area of St. Charles and follow along the Lewis and Clark Trail for the 8 miles of trail. Views of the Missouri River bring in many walkers, bike riders, and those looking for a quicker experience. Though smaller in size, the Lewis and Clark Trail is one of the areas most popular.
Are you more adventurous or skilled when it comes to hiking? Cuivre River State Park in Northeast Missouri offers a more rugged experience to those looking to enhance their hiking for a day or more. Giving way to more than 6,000 acres of fishing, trails, and camping, hikers can spend their time in miles through the woodlands, tall prairie grasses, and Big Sugar Creek- an undisturbed creek in the area.
The summer is the time to explore. Get out. Go somewhere new. Take a friend. Take the family. Spend the time together, growing, experiencing, and learning.
